| Fight Music Does anyone know of any good songs to use while doing a martial arts show. There will be a Kung fu master (me!) and a ninja and a wide array of weapons, including some of european origin. Thanks so much

| Apocalyptica's rendition of Hall of the Mountain King. It's great. There's a slow creepy part at the beginning, then it jumps into a surprise, and then gets faster. I highly recommend it.

| Wow, TRH, you .....like read my mind. Last year we did nine inch nails "metal" and i was thinking something similar. Just as I was typing I listening to Apocalyptica "Fade to black", and thinking how cool it would be to use something by Apocalytica.
Do you happen to know how long the song is?

Do you happen to know how long the song is? | As I recall, it's about three and a half minutes.

| It all depends on the kind of fight; some are well suited to thrash-metal while others are better suited for say "Eye of the Tiger" or Wagner. In movies the music often sets/goes with the pace of the fight scene.

| Fleetwood Mac, 'Somebody's Going To Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight'. Might be a bit short for your purposes, though. |

| Is the fight choreographed, or a free-for-all?
If it is choreographed, and if it is choreographed well, then it will have a dramatic structure (i.e., the "good guy" will initially appear to be doing well, will overcome some initial obstacles, but will then start to lose. If there are multiple opponents, there will be a difficult struggle against the lesser opponent which the good guy will almost lose, but will ultimately win by a demonstration of greater technical skill. Then the better opponent will enter the fight and the good guy will really suffer. The good guy can't catch a break, unless it's a broken arm. But at the last minute, when it looks like it's all over, the good guy reaches into inner strengths to finally triumph.) If that's the kind of fight you're doing, then there are countless movie soundtracks whose fight scenes follow this dramatic structure pretty well. Think Rocky, Karate Kid, Return of the Jedi, Gladiator, etc.
If the fights are not choreographed, then you want some punchy music with a constant tempo and volume, more aggressive than dramatic. A mix of old Offspring and stuff off disc 2 of Metallica's Garage Days would be more of what you're looking for.
