Now this is desperation--comparing a hurricane to an invasion from outer space?

Again, both have been "considered". "Considered" does not translate to "anticipated". I understand that ridiculing the analogy is easier than actually choosing accurate wording for your accusations, but, oh no, wait, it isn't. Get a dictionary. Use it.

Ah, ah, ah! It's MY analogy, not yours. You don't get to change it to suit your own purposes. Make your own if you like, but take mine as I offered it or leave it alone.

Conservatives are spinning, spinning, and spinning, but I don't hear them making much sense.

It's because you've got your fingers in your ears while you say "LA LA LA!" very loudly.

Almost forgot the "lie by all definitions" bit. A promise is a promise, so:

5. Sports: The position of a golf ball that has come to a stop.

Here's the situation again:

1. Bush was told the day before the hurricane that the levees could possibly be breached.

2. Bush came out four days after the hurricane and said that such a breach was never anticipated by anybody.

This isn't my "portrayal"-- it is what is being reported by the Associated Press. Read the report. Watch the videotape. These are the facts. No spin, just the facts. It's all right there for everybody to see.

It's not that difficult to understand: if Bush makes a statement that he personally knows is untrue at the time he made it, it's a lie.

You forgot #3.
