    2006-2007 Regional Youth Coordinators

The appointments for next season were supposed to be made at the JOs. So far, they have not been posted on the RYC website. Anyone out there know what's going on?

The timeline was pushed back a bit about a month ago, extending both the deadline for submission of applications and for the announcement of who the coordinators will be.

That said, my best recollection was that the pushed-back announcement date was Feb 27th, which has also passed.

This is for the Regional Youth Coordinator positions for the 2-season term 2006-2008. For reference, I'm a current coordinator who applied to remain in that position for the new term and I have not heard yet either. Unlike hpfencing, I have not tried following up yet.

I thnk the two-season term is a good idea. An enforced high-turnover rate doesn't do anyone any good. And if there is incompetence or burn-out, there should be a reasonable transition method (just as it would be for any position).

Ever noticed how often JO's and (insert random illness) seem to work themselves into the same sentence?

Young fencers are capable of turning any convention center into an incubation chamber for disease.

Andrea - if you ever get tired of fencing, you could make a new career of supplying infectious disease specimens to the CDC. Take some vitamins or something.
