| USFA web-site The site is donw again.
I pay least than $50 a month to host the HP website and it has NEVER been down. I wish someone, somewhere would wave a magic wand and MOVE the USFA site to a reliable server so that we STOP having all htese problems.
Sorry I know the people here cannot do anything about it, just venting! |

| And the other question is if it's a server issue or a code/build issue. For all we actually know, some script that builds the site is crashing the server. |

| Wow... $50 bucks a month sounds high for website hosting. I paid something around $175 bucks for 3 years. Of course I did my own website design, but that still sounds high.

The problem is not the server, it's a bug in the code. Moving to a different hosting company will not solve the problem. DK finding the bug in the code will solve the problem. Until then expect intermittant service.
Repeated complaints about the website here serve no purpose and have no value.

-B | I disagree.
These threads do keep this important issue on the table, and illustrate how important a functional website is to the membership.
Telling people to hush is not the answer.

| I don't think anyone is satisfied with the availibility of the USFA website but seriously what do you hope to gain by complaining every time is goes down?
I think DK appreciates that we all use the website and are unhappy when it goes down from the previous 500 threads, one more isn't going to do the trick. |

| Tell that to the folks who keep starting threads about shoes, and the retarted games that run throughout the board.
Look, if you don't want to read this thread, then don't click on it. The title clearly says "USFA Website" - what did you think it was going to be about?
And just as a reminder, this thread gets kicked to the top of the heap every time you post in it... even when it's just to complain.

| Obviously, this is Nancy Anderson's fault, too. ( Maybe this thread is even her fault. ) |

| The worst part about this for me is that i manage my clubs site and it links to the USFA for the national schedule. Every time someone tries to check it they tell me my site is broken.... Which it never has been.
On a related note, I build sites for a living. I once had a bug that was crashing the DB on the site. When we realized what was happening we worked on it until it was fixed... nearly a day and a half. Thats what professional developers do. If its a known bug and the site is still down than get the code base from the developer, give it to a professional and fire the old developer.
I know an RFP (request for proposal) had been put out for branding and development in the past. Does anyone know if, considering the complete failure of the current developers if they intend to put this back up for bid? |
