Harmony and Disharmony

The full title is Harmony and Disharmony, Exploiting al-Qa'ida's Organizational Vulnerbilities.
Based on recently declassified documents, this report provides insights into the organization and workings of al-Qa'ida (from their own hand), with the goal of finding weakness that the good guys might exploit. Very Long, 116 pages, although roughly half (the 2nd half) is the raw documents that was the basis of the report. I only read the first half myself.
There's probably too much material to digest before any type of discussion can begin. However it is an interesting report for those interested.

I am finding this very interesting reading. Thanks. I wonder if the other purveyors of facts here will bother giving this a read?

It's not saying much controversial so there's not much debate to it. It's essentially advocating a strategy to exploit organisational weakness in Al-Q. The strategy recommendation, I think, is right on the money:

Reduce the appeal of the Al-Q brand by encouraging them to do stupid things.

James.

What do you mean nothing controversial? First of all, the very fact that we are discussing ways to defeat that poor misunderstood terrorist organization is just another example of the USA trying to keep the little man down. As an example, some might take offense at the strategy to “refrain from actions that encourage preference alignment”. This suggestion is clearly discriminatory, as it recommends only taking out certain terrorist, while leaving others alone. What about in part II, Document ID: AFGP-2002-600113, Information obtained from Omar al-Sumale during electric shock torture... I mean therapy?
