Go.... Russia? Sweden? Finland? ...
I don't know. Anyone got ideas? |

I am going for Latvia (unsuccesfully) just because I've met Irbe and know how much competing for his country means to him.

| Yeah but of all the girls I saw in the medal presentation, the American girls were the prettiest! (not to debase anything...I'm just making observations here)

| Maybe that's because the US chooses its competetors based on how they look instead of their athletic ability.
Go Canada! |

Go Canada! I'll be singing-off-key as always.

| I have a bottle of whiskey riding on USA vs Finland, in Men's Hockey.
The bet was made a few months ago, before team USA decided to totally **** up the pools...
I'm mildly nervous, but am reminding everyone about the Sweden - Belarus match - up from 2002... I was watching that game in a room full of Swedes - freakin' sweet. Poor Salo. heh-heh.
Go USA!!!

The Ice Dance was fab last night too, although the night before they kept dropping each other. Ouch.

| My husband told me a funny story he read about one of the women on the hockey team.
She was at a restaurant, and some guy grabbed her wallet and started to run. She ran after him, quickly caught up and just kept up with him tapping him on the shoulder until he gave up and handed back the wallet…. LOL…. guess he didn’t expect her to keep up to him.

| So does anyone else think that with our women’s team taking gold yesterday it will either inspire or embarrass our Canadian men's team to play better? Or should we just put our women in the guys uniforms and have them kick some butt???

BTW, since I didn't say it before, the Canadian women's hockey team was clearly heads and shoulders above all the other teams. The US did pretty well until the game against Sweden, but, even then, Canada looked much stronger.
Must be all the practice checking the moose off the rink. |
