| Reports on JO Board Meeting/Recall? For those of us not in attendance at the JOs, what's the skinny on this morning's BoD meeting? The recall effort? Enquiring minds want to know!
The Recall:
*How are the proponents acting? Elated, grimly intent, annoying everyone as their wheelbarrows of petitions knock over fencing bags along the strip? Is there lots of last minute campaigning? What's the last minute handicapping on the vow of Presidential resignation by Monday?
*How are the USFA folks responding? Blithe indifference, panic stricken CV copies being made on the DE-Table printer? Is the President acting Presidential, or has she been locked into a shunning zone faster than an Amish elder found with a G5 laptop in the barn?
The BoD?
*Anyone actually show up at 7:30 on a Sunday morning in Hartford, for goodness sake?
*Any presentation of recall documents, or clarification of amendments on recall signature duration?
*Any action on other items listed in the agenda?
The JOs:
*And about the meet itself--any complete results listings?

| Funny, I would have thought our indefatigable MD would be in here singing his favorite show tune from "The Wizard of Oz" by now.
Pray tell, did things not go as promised? Have circumstances, perhaps, changed?
Perhaps Dr. Lutz would deign to enlighten us. I'm sure it's a good story.
And surely Oiuyt or someone who was there can detail the presentation of the recall petition to the BoD today.

| JO results are up on the USFA website ( which is working for me ). Not a word about the recall or any other administrative affairs. |

| Perhaps, a GAG order from the BOD to BOD officers regarding the issue! That would be nice, because we do not need the IOC getting involved.

| Maybe it's just me, but a gag order coming from an institution not noted for its transparency under the best of circumstances would be an affront to the membership.
In fact, unless the majority of the BoD members are actually part of the secret cabal of recallites, I would think they'd WANT people to know that the recall had failed to deliver as promised and give us an update.
But maybe that's just me.

| There may be good reasons for the BoD to want to keep certain things behind closed doors. While we all like transparancy, somethings just work better in dark smokey rooms -- my anti-democracy post for the year.
So, we may not hear from the BoD, or hear soon. I can live with that I suppose. However, I thought Dr. Lutz and others would have posted by now --one way or the other.

| Well, it's Monday evening.
Do you know where your recall is?
Also, did they officially announce the Cadet and Junior World Teams at the end of the JOs? Anybody hear it?

They probably didn't, because in my experience there is at least one more Jr World Cup to figure into the results...
If you recall, a few years ago Verigan didn't make the team, as of JO's, but made it on a subsequent result. Quote: |

| Chances are most of the people at the BoD are just returning....give it till tomorrow...they're tired, we all know how that is. No team announcements made as of 5pm Monday.

| I'm back home now (having arrived last night at ~2am, after reffing past 10pm). My notes are at home, so I'll post a more detailed write-up tonight.
No recall petition has been presented.
At the Board meeting Ron Herman's motion (released separately after the rest of the agenda, but posted in the Agenda thread) was accepted as a motion to be reviewed/discussed despite being after the Agenda deadline. It was then moved to urgent status, which meant that it could be voted upon at Sunday's meeting. It was then split into 3 motions (as had originally been intended before he had merged them into one for simplicity).
The first two passed (signatories must be USFA members both at the time of signing and at the time of submission of the petition, and that all signatures must be dated), the third failed (that signatures are only valid for 90 days). The second of these three presumably is going to create some problems for the recall movement currently underway as I'd assume that many/most of their already-gathered signatures are not dated (not having seen a petition form I can't say from first-hand experience, but judging from reactions/comments).
As mentioned I'll post more complete notes with information about the rest of the meeting/motions tonight.

| Oh, and at least some of the teams were being announced on Monday over loudspeakers as part of the awards ceremonies. I remember ME Cdt/Jnr team announcements.
