| Google.cn CENSORED by who? god gamned Beijing of course. where is freedom of speech? damn chinese government! just because they are the biggest market, does that mean they can deny people their rights? damnit beijing should be replaced by a democratic government and remove all signs of communism. especially mao. it would seem capitalism works FAR better than communism, even if its the more liberal ones like china. i pity the chinese. they have ZERO freedom.

| The chinese ar just trying to protect their culture. They have tried democracy before and it didn't work for them. Democracy was harmful to their value system. |

| Funny you should say that because Singapore is where it is today because of Lee Kwan Yew's Confucian ideals and as far as I know Singaporeans do not have full freedom of speech. |

| We don't think he comes from ANYwhere on earth, actually.
When exactly did China "try democracy"? 1946-49, with a full-blown civil war underway? Yeah, THAT was a fair test.
OTOH democracy seems to have done swimmingly in the Republic of China ( eg Taiwan )....
Face it, no one in the government of the PRC is trying to "protect China's culture" with this sort of policy. They're trying to protect their own political control of the country and their power over its people. At best, they're trying to protect a pseudo-religious philosophy, Communism. At worst, their own personal affluence and influence. |

| They tried it during the Han Dynasty and once again during the warring states. If you read the 3 Kingdoms you can see what happened. |

Think about it. What is more important? That perfect bowl of mee pok or the right to speak freely. I would take the mee pok anyday. And don't forget chilli crab and black pepper crab. |

how dare you judge an entire culture when you know nothing about it. comparing western ideology with eastern rational is about as reasonable as electing an otter to be the president of singapore. |

| It says in the article. "Alas it's not Google that's doing the censoring - and a big red-faced Oops from The Reg. Google explained last week that uploaders had made the decision not to make the clip available to US internet users." |
