Anyone going to the Canadian Westerns this year?

    Hello...

Are any of you folks considering competing in or going to the Westerns this year?

After checking BC's, Manitoba’s, the Canadian Fencing Federation, and finally Alberta’s I found the info. It’s in Calgary April 29th.

Sigh… I wish Canadian fencing websites were better at posting info.

It's close enough I might go, I may not fence... but I might go.

    Here's the link: http://www.fencing.ab.ca/TournamentR...rcuit=National

Based on what I see on their website, Alberta looks like a good province to fence in. There's quite a few tournaments that add to your national rankings (only certain ones are sanctioned by the CFF).

CFF used to list which events were sanctioned... I couldn't find it. I really, really hate the CFF website... I spend way too much time trying to find info that's hidden in some stupid place.... enough ranting.

When I get competing (and caring about my national ranking again), I’m thinking of hitting a few tourneys in Alberta, the drive can be a b’itch (12-14 hours) but cheap flights can be found and it’s only an hour.

The Alberta Fencing Association website, www.fencing.ab.ca, contains all of our tournament info *and* it offers electronic registration for competitions.
