I've NEVER had an uhlmann clip come off unintentionally... but... what will your fix do?
Never do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

If your clips have the little star washer under the screw, that's probably why you haven't lost one. My Uhlmann cords have the star washer, and I AlSO have never lost one. However, Uhlmann is being cheap and no longer puts the star washer on....so they've been popping off.

The design Mergs and I came up with cannot come undone without some effort on the part of the fencer. I need to get a drawing from him and start shopping around for people to make the parts. It'll come.

How much effort will that add when fiddling with the bodycord? Or does using the Prieur style blocks eliminate undoing the clip? I'm not used to fixing Prieur style cords...

The clip's permanence will not interfere with working on the cord...my blocks are based on the Prieur style...there's no casing to take apart. The rubber cover (when it;s done) will fit onto the block without having to take the clip off.
