Body cord parts

Does anyone have a chearer and maybe better alternative to the light weight brass screws that hold the prier body cords together. I am having all sorts of trouble as our club with our armory staff screwing the heads off of them and they are just to expensive to keep replacing.....

I have told the armorors to use a wider bladed screwdriver and not to tighten them so tight but I'm still having troubles for some reason.

HELP!

Matt;

Check you the steel pointed screws in my cords when you get your sample (it's on the way)

Right now they're a bit too long -- 8.2mm vs the 5.5 of the Prieurs -- but hopefully that can be changed.

I really cranked them when putting the cords together...didn't break a one.

Keep in mind a few things...they were meant to be used with a tapped hole so simply screwing it in would drive it through the insulation of the wire. On a Prieur you'll have to push the screw in to pierce the insulation enough fo the screw threads to grab onto the threads in the receiving pin.

Additionally, if the insulation of the wire will NOT fit into the receiving pin, you'll have to tin the wire to give the point of the screw something to bite into. Don't know how well that will work, since that's not the designed usage, but give it a try.

I have some extras for sale if you want (haven't decided the price yet, tho)

If you want to save yourself and your hardworking armouers some work, switch to Leon Paul for body cords. No screws to be tamed, just a piece of rubber to be handled!

Given the cost of replacing a club's worth of body cords vesus some screws, I think the screws win.

Actually, there are screws in the LP as well.

Matt's not talking about the casing on the cord...he's talking about the connection between the body cord wire and the socket pins.
