| small gloves? Is there a manufacturer which makes small gloves, or takes custom measurements? My hands are particularly hard to fit and long fingers/loose palms destroy my blade precision.
Hand dimensions are:
palm width - 3"
palm length - 3"
hand length - 6" (heel to tip of middle finger) |

Measure around the hand, NOT including hte thumb. |

Oh, and my current glove is a Post Sports size 7, and too big. |

| Actually, both - baggy and long. I've got about 0.5" in the fingertips, and the fingers are too wide. |

| I've never tried a 6.5, and the only other type of glove I've tried is a thin leather practice glove.
Thanks for all your help thus far, by the way - you're awesome. |

| The number of vendors who stock 6.5 or at least carry it with them probably isn't too big... |

| i'm surprised that the big vendors like uhlmann and LP don't offer custom glove services (to my knowledge). gloves should fit, well, like a glove and the proportions of the hands do vary quite a bit. anyone knows of a vendor that sells custom gloves?

Token...I've got a RH 6.5 in stock of my new glove, if yo wanna give it a try. Drop me a PM.
As for vendors carrying smaller gloves...manufacturers DO make them (I've got a 5...my GOD it's small), but it's a matter of the vendors buying them.
The main problem with fitting a child's hand is that the fingers aren't fully formed yet....an adult with short stubby fingers (like mine) has the same problem. My very firsty glove was a France Lames knock off...and I had tgo cut the fingers short and sew the ends closed because they were so long... |

I have a feeling I'll be stuck cutting my fingers down as well. My fingers are actually shorter than those of many of my friends' younger siblings'. Yay stubby! |

| Small leftie glove token,
I may have the glove for you.
First is a 6 LH of a synthetic white with blue detail, the second is a 6 LH of a grey leather. The second is older but even smaller than the synthetic.
I uploaded the photo with rulers to imageshack: http://img495.imageshack.us/img495/3...gloves28zo.jpg
If you cannot get to this link, then PM me and I will email you the photo.
Bran

| Bran, you are my HERO!
One question: is the leather one ok for tournaments? Is the velcro even necessary for tournaments?
If the leather checks out in that sense, I'd love to buy it!
And if it doesn't, I'll give the synthetic a try. |

And if it doesn't, I'll give the synthetic a try. | For foil, there are no regulations really. They only say that the glove may be "slightly padded" and that the gauntlet must extend approximately halfway up the forearm as a safety precaution.
Leather is more than okay for tournaments. It's really a preference of if you want washability (leather - no; synthetic - yes) and also the general characteristics of the glove (e.g., material, shape...).
The fact that the leather glove I showed you doesn't have a velcro strip could be an annoyance - every time you fence you'd have to slip it through that opening. If that's a deterrent than so be it. Like I said, it's an oldie....

Like I said, it's an oldie.... | I actually prefer leather and no velcro, so that's perfect. For the longest time i had a basic no-padding leather glove with the opening, and even though it was too big, I miss it. (wore it down to holes in the fingers and what looks like leather-arthritis!)
Thanks for the clarifications! |
