clearly it's because PdF has pioneered new technology that will allow Epee to run much faster than sabre.

they just aren't at liberty to discuss it yet.

would you want to reveal technology like that before it was ready?

    That's oversharing....
    • Epee is the Louis Vuitton bag of fencing: only the best can get it, and the rest of the masses must content themselves with cheap knockoffs (sabre, foil)
    • To not recognize the power of the French grip is to be in denial

no no mp... thats why we can allow 51 epeeists...

the question from brad was 36 v. 39... which is a reasonable question, as it just results in one more round and each 'team' having a bye one round.

Mmmm, the lack of denial makes me wonder if I got lucky with my guess....

Adding (for example) Jon, Dan, and Jed to foil and Keeth, Ivan, and Tim to sabre would make for fun competitions. Significantly harder for new classifications to go out, but the events would gain even more on the "must-enter" scale. And New York's close enough that bringing up teams of Olympians might even be reasonable. Long days for the "ringers" without an obvious benefit, other than promotion of the sport.

Okay, I won't push further, but rather wait until the announcement (if any). :)

    ok, i've got it.

there's an underwater lair under the pond-ey thing where the fine folks at Prise have been creating Frankenstein-esque creatures that are capable of fencing 24-7, which will be a huge benefit to the US National Teams. previously, they didn't appear "normal" enough to debut in public, but the team working on the zombie fencers is confident that by memorial day weekend, they will be ready for daylight.

why foil/sabre and not epee?? ......... it was easier to blend the epeeists in, since they all appear either dead or insane, and they've been integrated already.
