| more new members! hi everyone.
it seems i'm somewhat different from many of the other "newbies" on this site. i'm not new to fencing (relative to some of the other newbies i've seen) i've been fencing for close to seven years now, but i am new to forums (fora, if you're going to be correct to the latin, but we'll let that go). for instance, it seemed rather silly to start a new thread just to introduce myself, but it seemed silly to post on someone else's thread too. so here i am.
for anyone who doesn't know, "ailuros" is the english transcription of the classical greek word for "cat", and i'll respond to either.
hope to get to know some people here better,
talk to you later (i hope),

| Here, kitty kitty...
Now look what you've started. Here I am, too.
... and I don't have a clue what to post about other than to send the greetings to those I know.

| Welcome to the n00bs! Please, feel free to post in other sections of the forum. I've noticed many just leave an introduction then fade back into obscurity. The more the merrier.

ailuros | So, nice to know all the above, interesting all the explanations - as to that welcome to these fora & keep on going with the latin and the greek.
Now, the usual questions - if you don't mind, I keep it in English:
1. what weapon
2. lefty or righty
3. shoe size
4. weight
5. you may leave out 3+4 as not really relevant, but 1 + 2 would be interesting to know.
Cheers and enjoy the fora!
Pauli

| questions questions... i have competed in all three weapons, i'm an E in foil, a D in epee, and unrated in sabre. i'm training now mostly in epee, but i still fence foil a lot. i don't fence a lot of sabre. at penn state's fencing club (not the team, although i plan to get on it eventually) there isn't much sabre fencing so i only do it at my home club in pittsburgh: corsair. i'm lefty. ...i don't know why that's relevant here either, but i'll give it to you.
talk to you all soon,

For an epeeist
Oh, and another lefty, cool.
Welcome, Moggy

Welcome to the forum, Cat! I'm glad to hear you're still mucking about in foil. Does your college club go to any competitions? I'm also in college, and it'd be cool to see you there! Also, we have a fellow classics-loving epeeist on our team - I'm sure you two would hit it off great! |
