Array American Fencing Magazine & New Orleans Greetings from New Orleans. We are back up and limping along. Still only on club in New Orleans but we are keeping our fingers crossed that the other clubs will be up and running in the fall.
I have heard through the grape vine that there is an article in the Winter Issue of American fencing that is about New Orleans. We are still not getting any bulk rate or third class mail so we do not get magazines and such so I have not seen the article. If some one could post the article or scan it to me I would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers

There was, but the lady who owns the scanner around here is at work and so I can't provide immediate gratification.
Is the most recent edition of AF available on the website? It seems to be up for me and has been available in the past. -

Array I wish that was true. When the USFA started having the latest magazine, I thought they were going forward. The trouble is, the magazine on the web site is not the latest, it is the Fall issue. Hopefully soon.
They do have an article on Help for fencers hit by Katrina. Donald Hollis Clinton, Jr. DHCJr@juno.com

It didn't realize that the hurricane hit the Louisiana division and not the Ark-La-Miss divission. I was also surprised at how much equipment was lost during the hurricane, and that it was all stored in New Orleans. All in all the article will probally bring in some money for the people of N.O. and the division. A vulture boards an airplane, carrying two dead raccoons. The stewardess looks at him and says, "I'm sorry, sir, only one carrion allowed per passenger." -

We are starting a tradition of doing a charity open tournament each semester here at Brevard College, and because of the article I decided that The Fencing Foundation (the charity mentioned in the article) will be the charity we donate to this semester. The tournament is on April 29 and info will be on askfred soon. "Being a good feind is like being a photographer, you have to search for the right moments." Similar Threads -
