You need to forget about the travel agent and look online yourself. You get better rates and you can see all your options. Also, don't give up until the very end as sometimes fares drop at the last minute.

Flights from clt to rno are kinda high, but picking a random week in march yielded $440.00 on United. Don't you get a USFA discount on one of the airlines?

Also go to Southwest's website. You could drive to Raleigh to get on with them and get to Reno for a non-refundable fare of $230.00. The most it would be with them (anytime refundable) is $299.00

I already looked online, but I didn't realize Southwest flies out of Raleigh.....

It's a 3 hour drive, but it might be worth it...
