    Duel in the Desert web site - what happened?!?

    I just went to duelinthedesert.com to check out the confirmed entries for the events, and the site is completely gone, replaced by a generic domain name site. Googling it can bring up cached pages, but no new ones.

    Anybody know what's up? This is kind of alarming, considering that it's next weekend.....

    Nope, that link doesn't work either - it pulls up the domain registration page. Looks like mfp's found the reason - now I hope the organizers get things straightened out, because a functioning informational page would sure be helpful...

    Flickershutter to shoot DID

    DID czar Evan Ranes has another excellent event planned, complete with a Flickershutter.com photo system. The finals will be in a dedicated room, so the arena strobes will not bother other strips. At this event the Flickershutter camera will be an exotic machine vision image capture system with a camera head that looks a little like an old rangefinder. Image capture will occur within a millisecond of the on-target touch lights illuminating -- freeze it and seize it.

    I spoke to Evan late yesterday, and I am confident that the domain name trouble is just an unfortunate and isolated glitch. Southwest has lots of good cheap flights to Vegas, so don't miss out.

    Has anyone seen any results from this competition?

    I had a friend entering the Mens Épée event and am curious how he did...
    (And how Inq did. )
    Fencing is my only PvP.
