Array Swordwench makes some excellent points. Well said!
I would like to add that you can't say that women like or don't like beards generally, or even that one woman has a preference. Women are funny creatures, and we decide whether we like the beard after we decide whetehr we like the nman wearing it. Three years ago I'd have said I didn't really like beards, and then i went out with a bearded guy, and I liked it because it was part of him. But that doesn't mean the next guy I date (still waiting...*taps foot*) will necessarily be bearded.
But it's useful to know that the red sore chin you get from extended snogging of a guy who shaved say that morning (and it's now evening) is not a problem with a bearded guy as it is softer. For maximum female chin comfort, it's either a decent beard or a recent shave.
However Black Jeebus, i think you look nicer without a beard, in a purely objective sense. Louweasel

Seriously, I keep reading comments like "I saw Inq at the tournament, but I didn't speak to him because he looked so forbidding". Thus I conclude that I must have a certain, ah, unfortunate appearance... -
