Some new Adidas equipment

Allstar Germany has some new Adidas equipment on their site.

Wonder what these'll cost when they finally cross the pond.

    Shoes:

A number of fencers are wearing the drei-steif uniforms. I think they cost $20 more than the equivalent without the stripes. Check with Saul at The Fencing Post. He's the only one I know selling them, at least at Palm Springs. Then again, I really didn't hang out at any of the vendors.

The high-tops are news to me, though.

Flessel has been wearing them for a while now. I was wondering when mortals would be allowed to get them...

I've really enjoyed my adidas Equipment lowtops, having hightops would be great, but I'll bet we're looking at + $200

    Oh well, maybe next Christmas.....

I saw them on the Uhlmann site also. The rollbag looks cool.

It is hard to tell by that pic but is that a seperate jacket and knicker or did allstar just come out with an FIE unitard??

They are separate. Both Uhlmann and Allstar price them out as separate items. I wonder if Adidas really made it or had Allstar/Uhlmann do it.

BTW, Triplette makes an FIE unitard.

It's separate. If you go to the Uhlmann site (and perhaps The Fencing Post's site as well), you can see the Adidas uniform in the list. There's a top and a bottom.

The top looks fine for me, although if I were an epee fencer, I would use it, as the black stripes are raised just a little bit. Don't need to help out my opponent any, you know.

The bottom will depend on how it fits. I'm particular about the knickers. Good fitting knickers is more important than looks.

I think they're cool-looking and I'd buy them (always been partial to stripes!) but I'd have to be able to try them on. Shame I didn't see them at Palm Springs.

Cody Mattern (who won the Men's Epee) was wearing them in palm springs, they're very cool. And Eric, I couldn't tell for sure, but it really didn't look like the stripes were raised. It seemed like they had been painted on.

Well, I touched them (ooh!). They're raised, but only so little. Perhaps half a millimeter.

Is there a bobsledding helmet that goes with it?

Huh - I was watching the epee final and didn't realize the uniform was any different. Shows how much I pay attention to the clothes.

Are the uniforms any different than the Uhlmann Olympias apart from the Drei Streifen?

Oh great. Now I can buy a uniform with Adidas markings on it so I can mentally scare my opponents.

Just think, I would have spent a couple more dollars on an Adidas jacket and pants than an Allstar jacket and pants. That should be good to earn a B without even bouting.

My friend who got her luggage lost at palm springs bought the adidas uniform, and I got to behold it (ooooo, aaaaah)! Very nice looking, actually. I know someone who's seen the high-top adidas and said they were quite neato also.
