| looking to purchase underarm protector I know there are some vendors that use this site. Anyone sell an underarm protector that's not bulky, but would protect a tall teen who is constantly getting bruises from fencers who hack and slash? She has a cotton protector that isn't working well for her. |

The first thing I would do for her is make sure she is using a full chest guard: http://shop.fencing.net/Econo_Guard_p/bk-eco.htm
She may also want a full "shirt" sized plastron. I don't have them in stock, but you can get them from Leon Paul USA: http://www.leonpaulusa.com/fencing/a...d_350N_71.html

Thank you for your response. She has exactly the kind of hard chest protector you've pictured. However, I'm not sure whether she needs padding or not. She fences foil and is a beginner, however, when fencing other beginners that hack and slash, she comes out worse for wear. |

| Not bulky = no hit absorbtion.
I wear a Cartel FIE plastron that is really light, but it doesn't prevent bruises.
Of course, you could always staple a towel to her plastron.

| Sounds like it is more of a thicker jacket that she wants rather than a plastron.
Or, she could look into some of the "body armor" stuff that hockey and lacrosse vendors sell.

| What kind of jacket does she wear? My GF was plagued by bruises until she went to: thick cotton jacket, thick full shirt plastron, plastic chest protector, lame and tshirt. |
