Array Hello and Happy New Year! Joined so i could post and stir the pot
Been most interested over the much ado regarding Nancy at USFA.
Hate to belabor the obvious but this is fencing. Its only a sport. Yes, yes, yes, a definite path to enlightenment, but still merely a sport.
As 4 the Nancy thing: If you need to spend three extra days in the UK before and after a trip. Every trip. And you get called. Leave the indignation at the door. Or find a time machine. Go back 100+ years and attempt to sustain the honor that you do not possess. Regardless of outcome you won't regain that which you discarded. -
Hello Green Fairy.
So you found your way out of the bottle of absinthe ? -

Array Nice to be here Thanks for the welcome. I hope to be a voice for common sense or at least a decent agent provocateur when the topics get too heavy and we all forget what fencing is and why we all fence. After all there is no Musashi Flex (or Marketplace for that matter) at least as far as I know. And yes, epee is truth. -

Array Musashi Flex A sub plot from a series of books by Steve Perry: The Man Who Never Missed; Matadora; The Machiavelli Interface; The Albino Knife; Black Steel; Brother Death; The 97th Step; The Mushashi Flex. The only weapon book is Black Steel, between a katana wielding protagonist and a rapier (epee?) wielding antagonist. Mushashi Flex: an extra societal, galaxy wide competition between martial artists, both armed and unarmed, named after Miyamoto Musashi Fujiwara Genshin of The Book of Five Rings and and possibly Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu fame. Think roaming combative art masters seeking to achieve the ultimate position as "primero," the #1 slot. You register and seek out individuals higher that you in the overall stats. You fight, the winner advances and the loser falls, with a coincident trip to the hospital or the morgue. The total story line mostly centers around Emile Antoon Khadaji and his efforts to overthrow a repressive government, on a galactic scale. Not great literary works but a thought provoking storyline with regard to the main character in the first three books, and his band of martial artists. Worth reading.
