Dear Readers,
We wish to inform all that for credit card payments, online registration
for WMAW will be available until the morning of October 12th. If you plan
to pay in U.S. dollars by U.S. or international money order or bank check,
the cut-off date for registration is October 5th. Basic registration at the
door will be $125.00
If you are planning to drive into the city to attend the workshop, between
the hours of 6am until noon all cars coming into New York City must have
two or more passengers. This rule applies to all bridges and tunnels below
62 Street in Manhattan. This does NOT include the George Washington Bridge,
which is a better choice in any case as the
Riverside Church is uptown and closer to the Bridge. I also suggested that
you listen to 1010wins all news radio on the AM band. They give constant
traffic updates. Be aware that there are check points at these crossings,
where the police and state troopers may stop you and check your vehicle.
Please make sure to have your confirmation letter and a copy of the
brochure with you when traveling, just in case you have to explain why you
are carrying "swords". My husband and I drive into NY City 3 times a week
in the late afternoon with our fencing equipment. Since we drive a van we
are often stopped and are always asked what is in those black bags. I
always say fencing equipment and we have had no problems.
Sincerely,
Jeannette Acosta-Martinez
