    Talk to Purple Fencer:

He supplied the equipment for the episode.

Someone remembered! *sniff* Actually, I only provided gear for the three principal actors in the scene, and their stunt doubles. Anyone you see fencing in the background is an actual fencer with their own stuff. Still, it was a NICE sale! Sure helped my bottom line for that month!

I need to have someone tape it because I don't get HBO! The set looked great...we actually got the wood paneling used and it's been going up on the walls at SwordPlay recently. Nice change form the whitewashed brick interior!

BTW, in the scene there are two lady fencers who are cruising right in front of the camera...one of them's Felicia Zimmerman! The blonde guy you'll see directing a bout is SwordPlay's owner, Tim Weske.

If you see a foil lame with my last name on it in the background, it's NOT me...someone else was wearing my old lame for the shoot. I sell the gear, but have not been asked to be in the background yet.

I know this will be a dumb question, but... Who's Felicia Zimmerman?

Felicia is a beautiful gal who should be in front of the camera. Other than that, she's not bad as a fencer, either.

I guess you haven't been reading your American Fencing magazine or newsletter for the past 15 years.

They actually TRIED with Felicia, but she couldn't deliver the dialogue to the director's satisfaction, I guess.

For Counter Riposte...she's a 2 time Olympian (Atlanta and Sydney), who has a bronze in Women's team foil from Worlds last year. Her sister, Iris, was also ontghe Sydney team, and is a 2-time Jr. world champ, also in foil.

    And I agree w/Darius!

After all, he's been fencing for only 2 years, and worst of all he only fences sabre ;-)
    • Epee is the Louis Vuitton bag of fencing: only the best can get it, and the rest of the masses must content themselves with cheap knockoffs (sabre, foil)
    • To not recognize the power of the French grip is to be in denial

Hmph! In that case, obviously he must make up for what he lacks in fencing trivia in sheer wit, intelligence, charm, panache, charisma, talent, and devastating good looks...

    Oh, no, wait---that's me... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Well, he's a sabre fencer---I'm sure he's just a slightly less brilliant version of me.

Feh! That's blasphemy! Sabre fencers sprang full-armed from the forehead of Zeus. We didn't evolve from the same lowly origins as the rest of you lot, we are a Higher Order of creature...

    I watched it.
Fencing was more of a side plot.
And i guess Felica Zimmerman's ended up on the cutting floor.

I don;t have HBO and will not see a copy for a couple of days...how did it look?
