No thread about the Rose Bowl?

So, UT > USC, 41-38, anyone?

For my money, HOOOK 'EM HORNS!!! Awesome game, just awesome. All the USC fencers can now draw parallels between their favorite football refs and their favorite fencing refs for calls, too

Yay, Longhorns! I admit, I did the happy dance. I did.

Ah, so that's what all that yelling was about at work tonight. I almost forgot about it, but I remembered when I heard the screams coming from the electronics department.

    Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
    And it's goodbye to USC.
    Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
And we'll put over one more win.
    Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
For it's Texas that we love best.
Hail, Hail, The gang's all here,
And it's good-bye to all the rest!

    Yea Orange! Yea White!
    Yea Longhorns! Fight! Fight! Fight!
    Texas Fight! Texas Fight,
    Yea Texas Fight!
    Texas Fight! Texas Fight,
    Yea Texas Fight!

The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
    All the livelong day.
The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
    You cannot get away.
    Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
For it's Texas that we love best.
Give 'em hell, Give 'em hell, Go Horns Go!
And it good-bye to all the rest!

Well, last night I'm pretty sure it was served with vodka for a lot of UT celebrants, and for a lot of Trojans drowning their sorrows!

As much as I wanted USC to win, you have to hand it to Vince Young. That game was basically him vs. the Trojans. And he did a spectacular job of it under pressure at the end of the game.

Texas' defense also did a good job of shutting down Reggie Bush who only really had one big play during the game. Of course, all that coverage on Bush opened up the lanes for Lendale White but thats another story

I agree. Even when Texas went down by two touchdowns late in the fourth, you could see that Young wasn't rattled. Just by looking at the guy, you could tell that he was determined, focused, and confident that they were going to pull it off.

Of course, it didn't hurt Texas that USC seemed to let up their pass coverage on the second-to-last drive. That zone defense was just what Young needed to make quick passes for good yardage. Young marched Texas down the field with quick pass after quick pass, and before you knew it, it was a one touchdown game again.

While watching the game, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of fencer Vince Young would be.

I'm sure he'd be a decent epee fencer, as he's very patient and can always find an opening somewhere. He's also enourmous, which is always helpful when fleching.

Now Reggie Bush, there's someone I'm happy never took up sabre...
