| My vote goes for Jens. Everyone else is very good, but many of them are definitely past their prime. The only reason I didn't vote for Bruno is that he doesnt get enough high level bouting.

| Someone else is definitely fencing well this season. He's been making huge advances in the application of his tactical skills, not to mention overall physical development (a challenge for anyone of someone else's age!). I believe someone else is going to surprise a lot of people when he reaches the finals.
((Disclaimer: I do not personally know someone else; I've only fenced him a few times in the last two years.)) |

Anyways, I voted for Tamir Bloom. I think he quit fencing before I started, and from what I hear he's pretty decent
It would be interesting if he started training and competing again. I enjoy watching high level fencing, yes even epee, so it's sad whenever someone decides to stop.
How old is he anyways? |

| Perhaps he's thinking of Joe Elliot, who won the Cat Fight and took 3rd in the Bobcat. |

| I hope someone else's coach stays away from this event. The man's antics are an embarassment to someone else and the whole fencing community. The last time I heard him yelling at somene else, I wanted to go crawl in a hole myself. Jerk. |

And the 15 A's do not yet include Bloom, Phillips or Socolof. Due inactivity their rating dropped. Makes for an interesting rating curve and fun times in the pools already! | More than likely FRED's ratings are out of sync for some. Even if Tamir had not picked up an epee since 2000, he would not be a U. |

| Ye Gods. Now that it's actually time to show up, I'd forgotten *exactly* how early an 0800 start time actually is

I know of other people who returned after not being a member for a few years (but before their classification would have worn away had they continued membership) and they returned as U's. I don't see why the USFA would take care of Ex-Olympian's classifications any differently. |

| It will be interesting to see how he does in houston. He's very capable of making a top 32 finish.
