There are some in this thread here: Fencers weights... crazy which is still on the first page of the forum.

Use the search function, use Google, you'll find plenty others. Most fencing federations have a website, and most of those websites have at least height, weight, and handedness of their national team members. That should help.

You should email the athletes directly, if you really need to know. Some of the elite European competitors, have a website, funded by their government. I've noticed this mainly among German and Italian competitors, but there's definitely more out there, so long as you look.

    Some examples are...

Well, what kind of data do you need exactly?

Just height and weight, or more? Do you need to know their head size, arm length, etc? If the former I don't think it should be to hard to find. For example this page[1] lists the French national team members and each link on the page links to a page with details about their size and weight.

If you need the latter, then I think you will probably be on your own, and I suggest Fencerontheline's idea to contact the fencers directly and see if you can arrange some kind of measurements to be taken by them and sent via email.

I expect that the East Germans, Russions, etc. have a very specific data base such as you are seeking but are unlikely to be willing to share it.

I don't think that just size and weight are going to be very helpful.

Simplistically, Epee fencers are tall, Foil fencers are short and Sabre fencers are medium but that is fairly worthless. Robert Marx was national Epee champion several times and his brother Michael was national Foil champion about 8 times. Robert is taller. But I believe Michael was also national Epee champion.

There was a fencer from Columbia, I think his name was Ben Atkins, who is about my size, five feet seven inches. He was national Epee champion in 1993 two years after he was national Foil Champion.
    Whoopee! My avatar is back.
