    New Kitten

    Hallo!

It's kind of weird, you never know how to start these things. In Hollywood, always a big entrance...

Or so I sort of paraphrase Eddie Izzard. Right, moving on. My name is Jaimie Ailshire, and I'm knuckle-dragging sabreuse, started over a year ago when I finally managed to register for the beginning fencing class at The University of Texas at Austin, from whence I graduated 24 December 2005. I'm still unrated as a fencer, but it doesn't matter as much to me, or so I tell myself Paul Schimelman has been mostly patient enough to coach me, when I submit myself for coaching (which really ought to be more often), and I hope to be fencing as a member of FAST soon.

I have 9's across the board as a director, in theory, though I haven't seen it on paper/online yet, and I don't believe directing is not quite up my alley after all. I'll keep up with it, though, because I do know I love to work at tournaments, as a Floor Boss, or scorekeeper. I'm working on getting into professional Bout Committee areas, the head of which I'm told must be a rated referee, and you'll see me at the Rose Condon (Bossier City, LA) and hopefully at the NAC D (Houston, TX), if y'all are at either of those.

Salut to those of you I may have already met, through the Longhorn or Masters-Spruill Opens (Austin, TX - UTFC), or at other tournaments here and there, and I look forward to conversing intelligently (or, possibly, stupidly or sarcastically - I'm not perfect) about all things fencing

    Velcome.
    - I don't like small birds. They hop around so merrily outside my window, looking so innocent. but I know that secretly, they're watching my every move and plotting to beat me over the head with a large steel pipe and take my shoe
