    Pants = good

    Now that I have fencing pants, I don't seem to be getting bruises like I was before. You know, pants are a good idea! They tell you to bring "athletic" pants which I think originally meant sweat pants, but many including myself interpret to mean those thin pants. You'd never believe how many hits go down there among beginners. So, as a handy New Year's Resolution, resolve to, when you fence, wear pants!

    Did you get the pants with the zipper in the back for easy access?

    No I got the ones with the trap door.... what do you mean? They all have a zipper on the front right?

    They're ulhmann world cup ones, I won't rest until I find the olympia ones to match my jacket though. I don't think.

    Er, wait a minute, zipper on the back? Your pants are set up for those real fencing emergencies aren't they?

    He doesn't, he was implying that you would need one...for....non-fencing activities.

    Hmm, let me see, it was fencing, and pants. Not other activities and pants, or fencing pants used for other purposes, it was fencing, and, pants.

    Just a facetious post about how fencing is really better with pants on.

    You can try, and try, and try, but life is still going to be better when you ignore RL.

    There is this wonderful thing called the "ignore list" that you need to learn about.
    A vulture boards an airplane, carrying two dead raccoons. The stewardess looks at him and says, "I'm sorry, sir, only one carrion allowed per passenger."

    Riiiight, I see that now. You see, at first I thought he might be a productive member of the community, but now I know he's just a troll.

    As opposed to what, a skirt? Swim trunks?

    Anyway, I thought we were supposed to wear knickers.

    Well, as mentioned this is a silly thread, but certainly rather than "athletic pants" which can be those really thin ones.

    I respectfully disagree! Pants = good iff sex = male.

    Not a bad idea for women's sabre. It got tennis more TV coverage anyways.

    This year I started to make sure people know what this word means, if I use it in conversation. Reason - a small newspaper published an interview with me in which the journalist wrote something like "he waved his hand, showing off his leather knickers" ... no, I wasn't wearing those ...
