Leon Paul Etoile Foil Blade/Insulation Tubing Question

How do I get around this? All blades I have wired in the past have had a small slot in the blade to place the insulation tubing past the guard into the blade to protect the wire. These blades dont have that extra wide slot. Any particular trick to get around this?

Yes, you can cut one with a dremel tool.

Most guards have a big enough mousehole to allow the spaghetti tubing to pass through without having a wider slot in the blade. There is all kinds of spaghetti tubing out there, and some of it is too big to get through the mousehole. You can probably make the mousehole bigger with a small round file more easily than you can cut a slot on the blade with a Dremel tool.

Of course, you have to be careful to not glue the wire down all the way to the end of the slot Some people use tape to prevent this. I just hold the blade so the glue runs down the blade and start glueing a cm or so from the end of the groove. Of course I do the same from both ends of the blade so glue doesn't run up the barrel either.

NOTE: If you do end up with glue there, or you buy a prewired blade and they glued it all the way down, the hot air gun can be used to loosen the bond. Be carefull to not flex the wire too much or it will break.
