Array I have a pair that I don't use since I got my LP Blades. They do look a bit odd, although I had not thought girly until you mentioned it. The accent color is a fairly soft red and with a little wear/fading could almost be a salmon or a dark peach. I just don't like the silver trend in fencing shoes, even in my LP's. I think the new Adistars look the best out of all this current crop. But then again, you all know me. I think fencing kit should come in any color you want as long as it is all white with no patterns or accent colors! Just another lost soul saved by the (hit) First Church of EPEE!

Array Well, considering that the fencing shoe look is very popular in women's fashion with similar shoes being made by women's brands, yes, they look girly.
I wouldn't worry too much though, I mean, they were masculine enough for the silver medalist in ME at Athens. And I don't think anyone was talking about how girly his shoes looked as he beat Kolobkov.
During his bout with Fischer though, I did hear a couple of girly man comments... We're no threat, people, we're not dirty, we're not mean

Array I think several of the male fencers at my club wear them. Never even crossed my mind for a millisecond that they looked "girly."
If they were pink, I might concede the girly look, but as is - nah. I'd certainly wear them, and I'm probably even less likely than the average guy to wear borderline girly stuff. I would rather be scary on the strip than, say, cute or girly. -

That can't be healthy to lose testorsterone like that. You should consult a doctor. We're no threat, people, we're not dirty, we're not mean

Array Girly? Tell that to Carrozo. It doesnt matter what they look like, as long as they perform well. With that said, the durability of the dart 2's is pretty crappy. They also hurt the knees, in my opinion. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

Array They don't have as much padding as I think they should, and they scrape the big toe of your back foot when you first get them (unless thats just me and the other guy who complained of it at my club), mine seem to be turning yellowish from sweat (where the "breathing fabric" parts are) ( ) but the durability on mine seems ok. Not gonna do much epee in them though, ouch. I am he
