Flicking with a french grip? (epee)

I'm a sabre fencer, so I don't know too much about epee but I'm kicking around the idea of buying an epee and a body cord. I play around with epee every so often and it would be nice to have one that I really like to pick up whenever.
So, it seems obvious to me that flicking is easier with a pistol grip than it is with a french grip in epee. But does anyone know of any french grips that are particularly good for flicking? It probably depends more on the balance and set of the blade than the grip, but there's probably more that I don't know.

Specifically, I was looking at leon paul stuff. The LP non-FIE blade I have heard is extremely durable and a decent price, and having played around with an epee with an LP blade on it before it seems flicky enough to satisfy me. I have heard ad infinitum the arguement about the blade being too light, and the point lag, but that doesn't really affect me.
On the topic of grips, how does the LP carbon fiber tennis handle grip stack up against other french grips? If I do end up splurging on an epee that is what I would probably go with I think. I know that the handle makes it such that a blade cut for a pistol grip can be used on it - but can a blade with the tang fully intact still be used as well, or does it need to be cut?

Also, are there any advantages or disadvantages to each approach? Would having a full tang make it more or less likely for the blade to break at the tang? More or less leverage for flicks?
    Any info appreciated.

Get an LP with the stamp 60 or more on it.

I think it was Negrini who used to make this two piece pommel that went with a slightly curved grip. A lot of the top epee fencers used them: Mazzoni, Randazzo, Kolczonay, just to name a few. Those guys could do a lot of things with the blade, not just poking and counter attacking. Most guys I see with the LP tennis grip are hackers - might as well throw the handle of my shovel on an epee. Hmmmm, that's not a bad idea...

For blades, put on one of the flicky vnitis. They exceed the LP in flickyness. Pretty much any stocky french grip will do. It has more to do with the strength of your arm and grip.

I think I still have a weak wrist, I have a vniti FIE blade on my foil and I don't see how I'd be able to do the flick maneuver with it.

I could never get the hang of the flick, even on the rare occasion I used a pistol grip. But meh, I'll get along without it.

    Grats! exactly 1000 posts!

I'm a "standard" fencer. I do things a bit differently so please forgive my ignorance on certain issues.

If you fence or talk to any of the top flicking epeeists, they all seem to use really stiff blades. Especially with a french grip, the flick comes from the right hand position and finger tips, not the bend in the blade. Most seem to use StM or BF FIE blades. Beware that if you are relying on a whippy blade for flicking, the LP don't always bend straight down. They often bend to one side or the other (depends on the preparatory action preceeding the flick).

I always had trouble contolling the point with a vniti or LP blade - they wobble all over the place, especially with flicks! Better off sticking with my trusty FIE shovel.
