    Fencing needs something like this.

A site like this (for fencing), would make fencing so much easier to get into.

    www.tenniswelcomecenter.com
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben

that is a well designed website but the usfa doesn't want to have to pay for that unfortunately, the problem is the same: fencing is not as accessible as tennis.

I think that's DFP's point: Fencing needs stuff like that to become more accesible.

Isn't there a spin-off of this very site that is just this sort of introduction to the sport?
The solution to your problem is to fence another weapon.

    Yes, and it's called http://www.whatisfencing.com

Back when wflashka and other where writing a lot, this site got updated pretty often. Right now I don't think there is anything new on it, but it is still a very good intro to the sport. The problem is that it doesn't show up too much on Google because it isn't linked to much. More people should link to it.
    • Epee is the Louis Vuitton bag of fencing: only the best can get it, and the rest of the masses must content themselves with cheap knockoffs (sabre, foil)
    • To not recognize the power of the French grip is to be in denial
