Hello, does anybody can tell me about Fie regulation on see through masks. In Leipzig i heard rumour, that see-through masks will be required for international competition from next season?

They won't be required for foil or epee. They will be required for some sabre, but I'm too lazy to look it up for you. Using the search function here, google OR just checking www.fie.ch should allow you to discover this on your own.

i would have thought a mask you can see through would be essential for any level of fencing, not just a-grades...

Let us look at this logically. They are pushing the masks supposedly because of television. Think how rare it is to televise A-grades, let alone lower tournaments.

There are only 5 manufacturers of Visor masks, who have a very limited capacity. This last was one of the big reasons stated that the requirement was posponed for Epee and Foil. The questions about safety from the Medical Commission and SEMI probably affected it also.
