Hello,

I started fencing sabre in China, for recreation (not much discipline, so progress was slow) and am now in Singapore, and being forced to fence foil because the school team doesn't fence anything BUT foil -_- and the local clubs charge pretty steep fees (I've not actually checked any of them out yet, though...maybe I should).

Having fenced sabre for about 3 years, I'm naturally quite frustrated that I'm not practising it now (no one to fence with, no proper guidance) but have resigned myself to learning foil (still don't like it much, though) for the time being, while I am still studying. I kind of got fed up with fencing foil a while back, though, so I laid off fencing for a whole semester and am now rustier than before. Heh.

I've not tried fencing epee, and I don't know much about it at the moment.

Yup. Could someone please direct me to a list of English/French fencing terms? I learnt everything in Mandarin so I'm still a little lost. Thanks!

be careful of the club z fencing. they use fencing for profit instead of teaching you fencing hence the very expensive price. most of their products are bought directly from China by themself and sold three times the amount.
