Array One year to fence -- your goal (and three prep events)? Let's say you're given exactly one year to fence fence fence your heart out without any of your usual financial worries. And even better, you're given a small stipend to help cover some travel expenses -- it's not a lot, but enough for maybe four major national events. (No world travel, sorry! Yes, I'm asking from an American perspective.)
What's your top event goal for those 12 months? Which other three events would you pick leading up to it? And because your financial backer needs an official date for budgeting, what month would you begin this imaginary fencing year? EDIT: Ya know, on second thought this is pretty stupid. The obvious response (as has already been posted below) is Summer Nat'ls and three NACs.
So let's open it up to the world. Any events, anywhere, that you think you could compete in.

Array I'd start it immediately after the previous year's summer nationals. My goal would be to do nothing but fence and improve, perhaps weasel out some senior points. The four events would be 3xDiv1 NACs and 1xSummer Nationals (Div1 and Div1a if I got points) RebelFencer's Awesome Quote of the Week:

Array With the edit, it's a lot easier. Two NACs (both veteran 50-59 point events), Summer Nationals (vet 50-59 championships), and Veteran World Championships (Bath, England, I believe), with the goal of getting gold. Start in October (yes, I know it's a couple of months in the past) or NOW.
But I wouldn't want to quit my job because I love it, and at my age I'm more at risk from overtraining than undertraining, so I actually train about the right amount now. Array 3 cadet events, and take top 8 at cadet JO's. Actually, I'm shooting to get on the top 16 cadet points this next cadet season and get to one of the Cadet B events.
