new(er) rules

I just started doing tournaments again after about eight years off. Is it true you can now bring the rear shoulder forward in foil?
What else is new, besides the timings? I'd hate to complain to the ref and have it turn out I'm just behind the times.
Any help would be appreciated...

yeah, that is no longer an offense, however covering target with the rear arm whilst doing so is what is used in the same situations.

No penalty for falling, unless you make a hit.

No group 1 penalty for going off the side of the piste with 1/2 feet. Depending on the number of feet off depends on your ability to make a hit, and your opponent gains a meter.

i'm sure others will think of more...

Reading the rulebook will probably help a lot. A shortcut is to examine the penalty chart, and look for violations you're accustomed to that aren't listed there.

Curve on foil 1 cm or less.
Logos on masks, allowed but must be pre-approved.
Do not need to sign score sheet at end of poules or DE; ref. must announce winner at end of each bout.
