Ok, now after a few messages here it's time to introduce myself!

So, obviously my user name is my first name, when I registered I didn't think I would post in the forum. So, excuse me for my lack of originality.

What has brought me here was first the answers I was looking for concerning equipment. What made me come back is the general quality of the site and the forum, which has lots of users. So it's quite dynamic. And many of you being experienced fencers, I like the way you discuss about the technical issues of fencing.

And at last, I need to improve my English!

I fence foil (doesn't mean I'm a foilist ^^). I started fencing nine years ago, for a bit more than two years, then stopped. It's been two months I'm back at fencing. Needless to say I am a bit rusty...

Especially since I don't remember being a good fencer before I stopped! (erm... there was some really good fencers there. I was very happy when I scored a few touches against Erwann Le Pechoux ^^)

But in my new club they fence the three weapons. After two sessions fencing sabre, I like it a lot and whant to how to properly use that thing. Epée will come later. As for foil, damm, we're not enough foilists here and I'm fed up with always losing against the same persons!

Cool Nicolas. I understand what it's like to not have enough foilists to fence (I'm a foilist), I have the same problem at my fencing club.

Are you right or left handed?

I'm right handed. And there's not many lefties at my club, all weapons included.

It looks kind of weird to me since I'm not as skilful with my left hand than with my right one. Writing with my left hand is such a pain! But fencing and writing are different. There's this guy at my club who is right-handed but fences left because of his knee. I guess it's a matter of practice. But I've just bought some right-handed equipment, that's a bit late to change hand! I must have tried once, for fun, to know if I could win a few thousands of second, that was not conclusive at all!
