Since converting to epee, my waistline has gotten bigger. That is mainly because I've allowed my form and footwork to get realy lazy. However, I've been working over the past week to actually move on the strip and I'm noticing a decrease in weight now.

D'art: Doing Epee doesn't mean bad footwork. If anything Epee relies on good footwork. Doing Foil does indicate that your footwork must be fast, in Epee it's crucial that your footwork be accurate. Gaining and losing distance is a major part of the Epee tactical game.

Oh I know, Gav. I've just been lazy for a while. At any rate, my main competition at the club was fencing well last Tuesday and I was forced to work hard on footwork to pull a 15-14 victory out of him.

When I fence I definitely gain weight, I eat more... I've gained 13 lbs in the past half year or so... Oh well.

135711, I don't think that's plain toast, it looks like cinnamon toast...

Yes Doug, she did lose weight.

After my first child was born, I lost a lot of weight (I swear I was mostly baby & amniotic fluid!), but couldn't get rid of those dreaded 10 lbs that are so difficult. That's when I really began to practice & compete. I lost the weight quickly.

Now that # 2 is here, I'm looking forward to getting back to fencing when I can. I'm too cheap to go out & buy new jeans simply because I can't fit into the old ones!

And I'll see you soon, Doug. I told Stacey (the dark haird girl that was in my wedding) to tell you & the other Musketeers (& pirates!) that Lady Mary of Schoolcraftia gives her regards! She'll be there opening weekend. We'll be there at some point at least twice.
