Cementit for Epee blades - one layer or more?

There are several questions for the thread:

a) What are the advantages and disadvantages of using the different kinds of glues for Epee blades?

b) If you use Cementit, do you apply a single layer followed by fingertip rub, or several layers?

c) If you apply several layers, how long you leave it to cure before the second layer?

d) If you mix several glues, which ones?

I use Bond 527, it is clear and flexible, bonds with metal, available at most craft stores, and 1 layer is fine 90% of the time

I use epoxy. One layer does it.

I've just discovered Fletch Tite glue and have I am in the process of evaluating it. I have used it on one blade and it has held up for a few weeks now. The applicator on the tube is also better designed for weapons rewiring than most glue tubes are. That is to say it is much smaller.

I use Loctite precision in the little bottles. To me it does not really seem to matter much what CA glue I use as long as it is a quality glue, but I like the properties of this one in regards to how it applies and that it does not run to much. My pet secret is that I use a super glue accelerator on my blades. This smelly little chemical instantly hardens and expands the glue so there is in effect no curing time. If you have a wire popping out at a tourney, bend your blade, apply the glue, spary on the accelerator (I like the arosal ones), count to 20-30, unbend the blade, strip any exess glue off with a razor blade and go fence.

This is great if you are at a tourney or you have a LOT of blades to go through in a few hours. The downside is that this stuff makes the glue dry crazy hard. It is best to have an acetone batch to get the wire/residue out.

I use either Fletch Tite or Duco Cement...Fletch Tite is my preferred glue of choice...Duco is my backup... I use locktite red on the threads of the barrel.

To clean the blades I have a tile cutter picked up from Home Depot...which is perfectly made for cleaning the groove in a foil and works well on epees...if it gets dull i throw it on the grinder and its back ready to go...

I used cemenitt now for 30 years and I apply one layer on the blade and then another on top of the wire. I have found out for the ease of cleaning out the blade cemenitt is one of the best . I let it dry for about 8 hrs before using.
Now my cuz Chuck Allen used Flecth tite which he claim is as good has cemenitt. He let it dry about fours and here again he apppilled two layers.
