Kmak_577 | I feel that the Leon Paul design, despite the fact that it is the best "bayonet" of the style, has this problem that will not go away. The plastic socket is such a precision thing, the moment it is worn or out of alignment, bang, you lose the security connection. If the little plastic nubs inside the socket are worn, the cable can twist. If it can twist, it can pop out. We have an excellent armorer at our club that uses this system with original Leon Paul parts. It is a constant source of amusement for me as I ask him after he makes a scoring action that is annuled by the cord popping out, "So why do you use that system again?" I don't find it nearly as amusing, when his off-target light cancels one of my actions.

But you can remove the bayonet plug and touch both contacts to the front side of your guard or one to the guard and one to the blade.

| BG is selling 3-weapon, 3-prong body cords at JOs.
They feature a smaller 3-prong plug on the weapon side, so the socket fits better on a foil.
I therefore suspect that it is legal. (though you never know) |

| Absolute is now carrying Italian sockets and bodycords so they don't have to be ordered from the west coast or over seas for us up here in the north east

I only have one LP socket that does this because I dented it somehow.
It is the best bayonet system currently. IMHO. though I've not actually seen the Italian one.

You can short the Leon Paul with a coin. I talked to Chuck and what the ruling was by George K. about using an Epee cord for Foil with a clip was you couldn't short with a coin between the A and the C on the weapon end. Why that is necessary, I don't know. But at a later tournament with Joe making a opinion, George back down and admitted he was wrong.
