| Going Home Huddled for warmth, in the silence, Meekal came to a conclusion. One so important that he had to speak it now, & stick with it, or he might not go through with it. He stopped his horse. Over the howl of the wind, he said, "I'm going home." Two sets of eyes looked at him. He felt the weight of their gaze but did not flinch from it. He knew that this was the right decision. "I have to. I have nothing to offer in this dragon hunt. No skills that will be of any use. I am a king now, & a husband. And...soon to be a father. I've abandoned them all to learn to become what I already AM."
They stared at him, but he continued. "I've come to realize that no one can teach me the things I need to know. I just have to trust myself. I can't run away. I'm going back, & if anyone wants to join me, fine. But I'm needed more back there than I am here." Then, he waited.
