| What exactly are the rules on coloured lamés? I looked but can't find it. Could someone put a design on the front of their lamé, or is that against the rules. I thought they had to be one colour, but after seeing the rainbow lamés (which are hideous) I'm not sure.
Can someone clarify? |

| It depends on where you'll be fencing. You can get away with more locally than at ational tournaments in the US, and more at national events than at World Cups. I doubt that a design on the front will fly anywhere. ( Maybe in your own salle. )
The rules should be in the publicity code section of the rule book. But the USFA website is, once again, inaccessible...
Finally, let me just say |

| What you are looking for is M.25.3, which states the body must be one color. Reading the FIE rule book, I would say it was a poor translation. I would have translated it as Torso.
The USFA has made a note, that this rule does not apply to Sectional, Divisional, nor local competitions, which I feel is wrong, especially has been noted above, they allow those hideous tie-die at NAC's and allow them to be advertised as USFA legal at ALL competitions.
Don't bring them to Orange Coast.

| Too bad. I guess I can't put a Batman or a Superman logo on my chest.
What about breeches/jacket? Could I put it on the opposite side of country colours? |

| I fenced someone with a bright rainbow patterned lame once, really distracting. The fencer was a guy, which was the sad part. |

QUOTE]Sounds like others do also. At a Peabody, US, Sabre World Cup in ~2001, several Italians were wearing royal blue knickers.

On Jan 22, 2001 it cost 94 cents to buy a Euro, now it costs about $1.50. Thanks again, George.
