| My Birthday
Alas, my birthday was this past June. I am one year older and this birthday was not very good. What is life without fencing. What is life without my epees. I miss my epees and my fencing. But it is fading, fading, and my hair is starting to fade as well. But all the battles waged on the piste, were battles well fought and felt mighty, with the exception of one or two horrible bouts with foreign invaders from anon, with my iron girdle failing, though one teammate tried her best to encase my entire body in plastic to keep it from failing, age, gravity, the irs, and the deathmarch are the things which we cannot escaps. My epees, my mask, my glove, all gone, my bodycords gladly given away, my knickers, my teeshirts torn, gone forgotton, my jacket in shreds, down the tube, no I miss nothing but my epees and my glove, my mask, my gloves and mask, my five precious epees, my newer epee, my foils which are gladly gone into other more youthful [ahem] hands, the foils and epees, alined against the walls in their own room, waiting for the next event,
whish whish, whish.... my epees my wires, ever gone, the tiny screws and fanny pack with special wrenches and whatnot, all gone, all fading, all my sneakers! should I have jogged in them? Could I, should I... would I have been the next, the most shining genji of epee on the....
[fades, quietly saluting all who have fenced me in the past and to those who I will fence in the future..... Salute!]
[I went out shopping and had a beer and sat and watched people eat food]
