| White lights in Sabre?!?! Hey all,
The last few bouts, I've noticed that if my sabre takes a particularly heavy hit, often to the guard, or if there is a clash of blades as I make a hit the off-target light comes on. I've had it suggested that this could be a problem with the connector and the weapon shorting out, but I've looked at it and it seems sound enough. The connector in question is a standard Leon Paul socket.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? If anyone can shed some light on the problem I'd appreciate it as I'm totally stumped and LP's website doesn't have anything up for sabre maintenance yet. (Or it does, and I'm just too incompetent to find it.)
Thanks a lot! |

| Make sure that ALL connections are tight. Then make sure that your pommel is insulated so it doesnt ground against your gauntlet. Try tightening all the screws in your bodycord that hold the wires to the pins. Dpuble check your socket is also tight. Thats all I can think of for now.

| Is most likely your body cord or a rusty/corroded socket. |

| I would go with the weapon as the problem. As fencinman89 stated, make sure every thing is tight. If there is anything loose, you will get the white ligtht. The other possible problem is the connector. Do you have a Sabre connector or a Foil Connector shorted. The Leon Paul is more difficult to modify a Foil Connector and very easy to do it wrong.

| A white light in sabre happens much the same way as a white light in foil. There is a break between the B and C lines. Normally in sabre the B line is shorted drectly to the ground (C line) right on the socket. In an LP foil bayonet this is usually done by running a wire from the screw and wrapping it around the metal that attaches it to the tang. If this is the case check to se tha this connection is reliable.
Another issue may be what foilists run into frequently is the connections in the body cord are loose.

| The sounds to me like your sockets aren't properly attached to the weapon. |

| Just an update-
After taking all your advice, I tested her out yesterday in competition and she worked just fine.
Thanks a lot, guys!
