i would really llike to get good at fencing what is the key factor

hi im a foil fencer. i live in utah. this year we are doing a youth league for my highschool. i would really like to help my team out. what can i do that would make me a threat to other fencers.

Im really fast, but my coach says i dont have much control. im a u fencer. my foot work is getting much better. right now im working on making my tempo changes faster with smaller feet. im really not sure what to do when i fence. Im really good at disengages and really good with tempo. my friend who is on my team is really good. hes a c fencer. and he is really good with the march. I was wondering what things that work for you would help me

ok id say fencing is all about control of ur body!! reading many martial styles, i saw that they all consist on keeping ur self ready and ur reflexes ready, now what worked for me to prepare is sit down on the floor and with no one around, relax and concentrate on ur breathing...try to let urself go into the air....do this as long as u need...now what happends is...when u stand up, ull feel that u have more control and not only is ur brain concentrated, but so is ur entire body...try it...meditators dont just meditate for the fun of it..u know?

Mike: The secret to getting really good is to practice hard as often as you can and cross training with some weights and endurance training. Also, take private lessons and get some video footage of high level bouts.

The boring stuff. Dummy work, footwork, pushups, jumping rope. Do you know why most people suck? Its because they dont do the boring stuff. If it was easy and fun, everyone would be a champion.
