| I have several underarmor-type shirts (Nike, Adidas). I rotate them through the week.

| T-shirt. ( I'm tempted to say that I wear it OVER my jacket, just so I can criticize the poll. ) |

| I'm the weirdo. In practice I'll wear the tshirt + jacket (but no plastron or knickers), but in competition, no tshirt. If I have to wear the plastron and all that crap, gotta cut out what I can |

| An unusual idea Two of the best epee guys showed up recently in these suits that are full body and are designed to wick sweat and keep you cool. Didn't get a chance to see the maker but they look like running or some other type of suit. So those under knickers and protector under the jacket. They said it keeps their jackets clean from sweat and offers cooling.
I just use t-shirt under protector under jacket and knickers.

| Seriously The suits are supposed to help. I seriously don't know how. Maybe absorbing most of the moisture or wicking it out somehow. But this guy was sweating like crazy and his jacket wasn't soaked. I'll ask them next time the maker name and product name.

Underarmor makes the tight leggings, so you could pair it up with the matching top for the same effect. |

1. Sports bra.
2. T-shirt. (Regular or sports type, always sports T-shirt during comps)
3. Plastron.
4. Jacket.
No T-shirt under jacket? Ewww!

| there are several companies that make "high performance" shirts and/or full body suits that wick moisture from the body and hold it without passing it to an outer layer garment (like a jacket). the material expands similar to a sponge absorbing water. one particular model that comes to mind expands to five times its orignal thickness. i bought one model to use during cycling; it takes forever to dry out after i take it off and hang it on a hook, though - if i bike commute to work, 8 hours later it is still damp when i get ready to ride home.
nike and columbia sportswear company are two that come to mind that design and sell such apparel. columbia even has a product that wicks the sweat and somehow absorbs the odor so even when i'm sweating buckets, when i take the shirt off, it doesn;t stink like my other gear does when i remove it. its kind of annoying because when i toss that shirt at my girlfriend, she doesn't shriek and flince away from it like she does my other sweaty shirts.
***
i traded t-shirts for moisture wicking columbia sportswear shirts under the jacket. they are lighter, cooler, they don't stretch out of shape teh way a cotton t-shirt does under the jacket and they keep me dry. |
