Array I just yield at the DE's when i'm down in the score, and the time is running out......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! -
I like to shout when I get a touch that was really sweet. When I am fencing some of the older memebers of my club and I am lucky to lose the bout 3-10 I tend to shout a lot.
It also helps me keep cool, I have no idea why but it settles me and prevents me from over heating or sweating as much. Weird I know. -

Array I don't yell at all. I do occasionally talk to myself under my breath.
The reason why I don't yell is that I have anger management issues and strive to keep myself in total control. Yelling has the tendancy to induce anger or heighten emotions, which I do my best to avoid doing as it makes my fencing worse.
The only time I had a problem with yelling was when I was fencing a girl who had this shrill scream and would clutch her chest when she or her opponent scored. I kept thinking I had hurt her. This didn't throw off my fencing, but the director started to laugh when I took my mask off and rushed forward to see if she was okay. -

Mods, why not just sticky this? Annoying, yes, but less annoying then a new one put up every 2 weeks.

Mods, why not just sticky this? Annoying, yes, but less annoying then a new one put up every 2 weeks. Because there are plenty of recurring threads. If we stickied all of them they'd take up a good portion of the first page of the board. It's just not feasible. Plus, people would be more inclined to post about yelling in bouts because the thread was there. -

Then even better: put a one-week no-post (or just no-topic) ban on a new member so they can't post immediately and then instantly purge these threads/ban member for another week.
Also, possibly put in a better search engine. The current one sucks. -
