Where can I learn fencing in Erie, PA?

Hi all, i'm new here and don't know a thing about fencing, but always wanted to get into it. I used to be into boxing a lot, but you kinda get tired of taking hits to the face all the time.

I was just wondering if anyone knew of somewhere around the Erie, Pennsylvania area where you could learn it. I've searched around and only found a high school fencing club, but that's about all i've found around here. I figured this would be a good place to ask.

Thanks,

Derek

Hi.

Here's a link with all the clubs in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Clubs

I suggest you use usfencing.org for other information about getting into fencing.

Hope you enjoy the sport.

As far as I know, Medallist fencing is no longer in operation, and the person in charge of that club was also in charge of a couple of others in Erie (like the one at Mercyhurst). There used to be a club at Long's School of Dance, but I'm not sure if they are active anymore either. It seemed to me that they were mostly recreational rather than competitive fencers. Your best bet might be to travel to Lake Erie College, or come down to our club at Allegheny College. We meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7-8:45 and Sundays 2-4.

Drop me a line if you're interested and I'll have you put on the email list.
