You should be able to put any orthapedic grip you want on there. Most grips, except for french grips, are the same size, and only vary a little bit in size from brand to brand. The only way that they differ is style and some people think that some styles are more comfortable than others.

It depends on the manufacturer. For example, grips from BG require a very short distance from the proximal end of the tang near the shoulder of the blade to the distal end (where you screw the nut on). If you look inside from the distal end of the handle, you'll see it is very deep compared to, say, an Uhlmann. Whoever makes the BG handles probably realized he could save a few pennies by altering the handle a little bit. Good luck.

Penguin you try to use big words and screw it up big time. Good job. I'll help you this once.

Distal would be closer to the point.

Proximal is closer to the pommel.

Distal and proximal are based upon a point of reference. Distal meaning further away, proximal meaning closer. Since I was speaking in relationship to the shoulder of the blade (which I did say), than I am correct. If *you* are talking compared to the end of the tang, then you are correct. Distal and proximal are not absolutes.
