    Intro

Hello, 40ish woman here; I've just started an "introduction to fencing" course (foil) run by the rec department in my city, just for fun and exercise and to learn something new. Our instructor is great and I'm enjoying the sport so far after a couple of classes. I'm more of a lurker than a poster but wanted to say hi (and to get rid of that nag at the top of the screen telling me to make an introductory post )

Welcome. Another foil fencer? Swift. Be sure to do more than an introductory post, this place can be fun.

    Hello

Welcome!!!! I hope you love your introductory course. I'm in the 3rd month of mine (started at 41yrs old) and loving it. I'm fencing Epee twice a week and learning just how much more I have to study. Great exercise, interesting people and so much fun.

Maybe the best point is that my club has about 40% members who are 35 or older and a fair number of over 65 fencers who can easily take out some of the best young fencers. Thought I felt that starting at 41 was late, they have inspired me to think much more about fencing for years to come. Have fun!!

Yes, that little 'nag' knows his job. I eventually wrote something to get rid of it too.....
